Boya BY-PVM3000 is a professional Shotgun microphone system consisting of three microphones BY-PVM3000S (Short), BY-PVM3000M (Medium) and BY-PVM3000L (Long).
Thanks to the super hearty directional pattern, the BY-PVM3000 can effectively block all unwanted background noise from the side and behind. The longer the microphone housing is used, the narrower the reception angle, which provides accurate sound from the subject being recorded.
The BOYA BY-PVM3000 microphone has a built-in low-pass filter switch in the preamplifier, if you hear low-frequency sounds from the air conditioner or traffic during recording, switch to low level to eliminate these sounds.
The BY-PVM3000 has a 3-pin XLR plug, if you want to use it for SLR cameras with a 3.5mm microphone jack, an XLR female to TRS audio cable is required. Or if you use it on camcorders with XLR connection, an XLR female to male audio cable is needed, the same audio cables are needed if it is to be used on professional recorders or other audio interfaces.
Compared to the BY-PVM3000S L, the reception angle of the BY-PVM3000M is about 50 degrees. On the other hand, when comparing the audio, the BY-PVM3000M offers mid-level audio recordings with less ambient noise than the BY-PVM3000S, but more than the BY-PVM3000L.
