Gum Gel is an innovative product that combines the best properties of acrylic and structural gel. The product is easy to use and suitable for beginners and more experienced nailers alike. Due to its rigid formulation, the product does not run and can be worked on for as long as you like, as it only hardens under UV or LED light.
Gum Gel can be used for lengthening with dual forms, drops or moulds, as well as for strengthening natural nails without extension. The product requires a Bluesky base and top coat to stay in place, a Cleanser liquid for shaping and a UV or LED lamp for curing. Colour layers can be added on top of the structure or it can also be used as such with the top coat alone.
1. Push the cuticles off the nail and clean the dry skin with cuticle cutters or scissors if necessary.
2. Shape the nail tip and lightly roughen the nail surface using a block or buffer file. Avoid excessive filing of the nail.
3. Clean the nail surface with Bluesky's ready-to-use cleaning pads or cleanser liquid and lint-free pads.
4. Apply a coat of gel base polish starting from the centre of the nail and pushing the brush towards the cuticle edge. Press the brush gently to spread the bristles towards the edges of the nail and pull the brush towards the free tip. Also paint the tip of the nail if the length is sufficient. Cure with UV lamp for 2 min or LED lamp for 60 s.
5. Add Gum Gel to the centre of the nail using an orange cutter or spatula. Dip the brush in Cleanser liquid and lightly touch the tip to the paper to absorb the excess liquid. Shape the Gum Gel by patting the paste with a damp brush. If the brush sticks to the gel, moisten the brush again. Once you are satisfied with the shape, cure with a UV lamp for 2 min or LED lamp for 60 s.
6. Clean the nail surface with a pre-cleaning cloth or Cleanser liquid to remove the sticky surface, file the nail to shape and smooth. The filing can be finished using a buffer or block file, then clean the nail surface again.
7. If you wish, you can now add colour polish and decorations to the nail. Then apply a layer of gel top coat using the same technique as the base coat. Cure UV for 2 min or LED for 60 s. No Wipe topcoat does not need to be wiped off after curing.
8. Moisten skin with cuticle oil and you are done!
Notes:
Avoid holding products in front of a UV/LED lamp as the products will cure and get ruined. UV rays from the sun will also cure the products, so do not use the products in front of a window or outside, even in cloudy weather.
After the gel has cured, the surface is left tacky to allow the gel layers to adhere to each other. The varnish is therefore properly cured despite the sticky surface. If contaminants adhere to the sticky surface, they can be removed by using cleanser-cleaning cloths.
If you have problems with the adhesion of varnishes or gels, you may need separate primers or a different undercoat.
