When intestinal function is disturbed, the breakdown of fibrous material into amino acids, vitamins and short-chain fatty acids, for example, is reduced and the horse is unable to make optimal use of its nutrition. In case of colonic dysfunction, the production of B vitamins in the horse's body is also reduced. Intestinal function may be disturbed by e.g. poor quality or nutritional hay, changes in feeding/environment, transport/racing, poorly chewed hay (dental problems) or heavy concentrate feeding.
The ingredients in Black Horse MyGut support optimal intestinal function.
The postbiotic enhances the number and function of the intestinal microbial community, supports mucosal resistance and improves apparent digestibility.
Vitamins B compensate for vitamin B deficiencies caused by intestinal microbiota disorders.
MOS reduces the adherence of harmful bacteria to the intestinal wall, providing a habitat for beneficial microbes.
Threonine is required for the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that supports normal cell function.
