The Beurer EM80 has three basic functions:
- Electrical stimulation of nerve pathways (TENS)
- Electrical stimulation of muscle tissues (EMS)
- Massage effect created with electrical signals
The device can improve general well-being, relieve pain, maintain fitness, relax, rehabilitate muscles and prevent fatigue. The effect of electrical stimulation devices is based on the generation and transfer of impulses from body parts with electrodes through the skin to nerve and muscle fibers.
TENS stands for electrical stimulation of nerves through the skin. TENS is a clinically proven, effective, side-effect-free method that is approved for use in the treatment of pain.
The EMS method (muscle stimulation) is used e.g. as a supplement to traditional muscle training to improve the performance of muscle groups and shape the body.
The massage technique makes it possible with its program that resembles a real massage in feel and effect. With its four separately adjustable channels, the device has the advantage of adjusting the strength of the impulses independently of each other to several parts of the body to be treated. In this case, for example, both sides of the body can be covered or larger tissue areas can be stimulated uniformly. The strength of each channel can be adjusted individually.
