This sharp socket is the ideal tool for socketing, general woodworking and handicrafts. The knife is handmade using high quality carbon steel and has been splined and well sharpened. Suitable for jointing both soft and hard wood.

The handle of the knife is made of ash, it is well ground and coated with natural linseed oil. The knife is suitable for both right- and left-handed people.

    Each instrument has a solid construction, and the blade is bonded securely and firmly to the handle.

    The tool blade is made of hardened carbon steel and tempered to 56+ HRC.

    Our tools will not break if used properly (for woodcarving only).

We do not cover the following:

    Normal wear and tear of the product. Each customer must independently maintain the sharpness of the tool they have purchased. Loss of sharpness during use is not grounds for repair or replacement of the tool as manufactured by BeaverCraft.

    Misuse or mishandling. BeaverCraft tools are designed for hand tooling only.

    Lack of maintenance and cleaning (learn how to service the tool). Defects resulting from improper storage of the tool are not grounds for replacement.

    Self-repair, modification, disassembly and other human activity that causes damage.

    Loss of tool.

The ten-year warranty applies only to BeaverCraft woodcarving tools.

    Always exercise extreme care when using or sharpening our tools.

    BeaverCraft tools are not designed as weapons and should never be used as such.

    Injuries that occur during careless use or improper maintenance of BeaverCraft tools are a risk of which our customers are aware. You should never overlook safety precautions and follow proper procedures when using woodworking tools.

    Children should not use BeaverCraft tools without adult supervision.

This flute is handmade from high quality carbon steel and is designed to give you the best cutting performance for fluting both soft and hard wood. The following guide will walk you through how to sharpen and maintain your knife for optimum performance.

General Sharpening Instructions

1. Inspect the Blade

    Visual Inspection.

    Feel: Be prepared to feel the blade gently to feel for any dull areas.

2. Choose Sharpening Tools

    Grinding Stone.

    Sandpaper: you can also use sandpaper if sanding stones are not available.

    Sharpening stick.

    Fluid: You can use water or grinding oil, which will not corrode the blade.

Step 1: Prepare

    Clean Blade: Make sure the blade is clean and dry before sharpening.

   Prepare Sharpening Equipment.

Step 2: Determine Blade Angle

    Correct Angle: This knife requires special attention to the blade angle during sharpening.

   Set Up: Place the knife against the whetstone, maintaining the correct sharpening angle throughout sharpening.

Step 3: Sharpening

    Motion: Pull the knife blade against the grindstone in a controlled and smooth motion.

    Accuracy.

Step 4: Fine Sharpening

    Finer Stone: Switch to a finer grindstone or sandpaper.

    Finish: Repeat the sharpening process, focusing on achieving the smoothest and sharpest finish possible.

Step 5: Blade Cleaning and Inspection

    Cleaning.

    Check: test the sharpness of the blade carefully and safely.
