A flotation suit is a safe and practical choice for the sea in cold weather and when moving on ice. The flotation suits are made of wind and waterproof surface material with taped seams. The sleeves have a PU cuff on the inside to prevent water from entering and an outer cuff that can be tightened over the gloves. The legs have a drawstring on the outside without an inner cuff to let the air out if you fall into the water headfirst. The legs have a quick-drying mesh lining. All styles feature interior shoulder straps, multiple fleece-lined exterior pockets, an interior pocket, a lined hood, and a comfortable lining.
The flotation suits have been tested according to the 50N standard and additionally approved for their thermal insulation according to the EN ISO 15027 standard. It requires immersing the test subject in a floatation suit in water at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius for two hours, and during this time the body temperature must not drop more than two degrees. The temperature drop of the test subjects in the Baltic flotation suits was on average 1.1 C. In addition to protecting against hypothermia, the flotation suit also protects against the first cold shock when falling into cold water.
