Nordic ART COLLECTION wall calendars for the year 2027. Made of very sturdy 250-gram natural white FSC cardboard. In Finnish, with Finnish namedays. New size: 23 x 34 cm. The calendar has the Swan sign. The beautiful illustrations in this calendar are from Gösta Sundman's rare work Finlands fiskar målade efter naturen (Finland's fish: painted from nature). This poster work was printed in Helsinki by F. Tilgmann between 1883-1893. Sundman painted the posters by hand, and they were then printed using chromolithography. Sundman painted the fish life-size based on living specimens, but when the fish were too large, he could reduce their size mathematically. O. M. Reuter and A. J. Mela wrote the texts. The work continues the earlier work on Scandinavian fish by Wilh. Von Wright, which was published from 1836-1857. Von Wright colored the entire edition himself. The Latin names of the fish may have changed over the decades.
