The Terhi 440 is a well-sized rowing boat that can be equipped with a short-stroke outboard motor. Thanks to its wide frame, the Terhi 440 is as stable as a pier and top of its class in carrying capacity. This boat is at its best as a connection boat to the cabin, allowing it to transport even larger loads safely to and from the cabin.
In fishing use, the boat does not sway when lowering the nets or when lifting the catch. The boat has lockable storage spaces both in the bow and stern and a middle bench that can be adjusted lengthwise. The oars can be locked under the back seat.
Despite its width, the Terhi 440 is surprisingly good to row. Rowing can be done from the middle and front seats with a pair of oars and paddles provided with the boat. When rowing the boat, the adjustable middle seat and several footrests enable a good rowing position for people of different heights. The middle seat can also be removed and attached to the front middle seat, leaving more floor space in the boat for transporting goods.
A maximum of 10 hp outboard motor can be attached to the Terhi 440's transom, but in our opinion, a 4–6 hp motor offers the best flow. The Terhi 440 has a submersible hull, so the engine placed at the upper end of the engine recommendation practically only contributes to the load carrying capacity. The boat has a separate engine well that increases the comfort of use, and when the engine is running, there are attachment points for the oars.
